This summer the first family to buy a Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands home in Leeds and Grenville finished their mortgage. Pictured on the front step of their home are Robin, holding granddaughter Lily, Troy and Matthew Blair.

Robin and Troy bought the house in 1999 and raised their three sons in the home.

HFHTI builds homes using donated materials and volunteers where possible, with families who would not qualify for a regular mortgage. Families contribute 500 hours of sweat equity and buy their homes at fair market value. Habitat carries the mortgage at zero percent interest.
