International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8, to celebrate the cultural, civic, and socioeconomic achievements of women throughout the world. The birth of this day started almost 100 years ago to raise a voice against discrimination and bias against women.
The aim of this special day is to spread the message of gender equality and by doing so create a better world to live in where there is no gender bias.
Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands is proud to endorse International Women’s Day (IWD). Women’s builds are popular form of volunteering and prove without a doubt that women can do what men can do and that is build a home. So, hats off to all of the women out there that believe in themselves and know we couldn’t do it without you!
