 The Opportunity

 Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands’ ReStore in Kemptville, Ontario is looking for youth aged sixteen to thirty to join our enthusiastic team of paid staff and volunteers!

Working alongside our team, the ReStore Sales Associate is responsible for ensuring a positive customer and donor experience. The ideal candidate will receive, prep, price, and provide minor repairs to donated goods. The items are then merchandised on the sales floor and marketed on Facebook.

This position also entails assisting customers to find goods to purchase, bringing those purchases to cash, and loading purchases. The role includes ensuring that the store remains a clean, safe place to work and shop by using safe work practices. Minor administrative and cleaning tasks will also be required.

 Key Responsibilities 

  • Welcome customers and donors as they come to the ReStore
  • Ensure donations are received in a timely, courteous manner
  • Assist in the unloading of ReStore trucks
  • Clean, price, and prepare donations for the sales floor
  • Merchandise priced items for sale in the showroom
  • Prepare draft product posts for Facebook
  • Organize and maintain store inventory
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Answer ReStore phones and general customer questions
  • Resolve customer complaints and ask for assistance as needed
  • Promote the mission of Habitat for Humanity through in-store advocacy
  • Perform other duties as assigned
